The PPV kicks off with two of the most popular teams on each roster, The New day versus the reunited Shield. The match is good as both teams are given opportunities to showcase their talent and new moves. The Shield defeat The New Day in this one and first blood goes to the Raw brand.
The next match is between the women superstars of each brand. Representing Raw is captain Alicia Fox, Bayley, Sasha Banks, Nia Jax and making her Survivor Series debut is Asuka. Team Smackdown consists of captain Becky Lynch, Natalya, Tamina (with Lana), Camella and Naomi.
Shockingly Beckly Lynch and Bayley are the first two eliminated. It is Asuka who ends up as the sole survivor in her debut and makes it 2-0 to Raw.
The third match is between Smackdowns Baron Corbin and Raw’s The Miz. Baron Corbin takes an easy win against The Miz in a relatively short match. This is the first win for Smackdown.
Raw tag team champions Sheamus and Cesaro take on the Smackdown tag team champions The Usos. This is a good interesting match between the two teams. It is the Usos who take the second win for Team Smackdown.
The next match is between the two women’s champions. Alexa Bliss, the Raw’s woman champion faces Charlotte Flair, who holds Smackdown’s Women’s title. Alexa does put up a good fight against Charlotte, however, Charlotte does have the edge throughout and eventually defeats Alexa, resulting in Smackdown taking the lead 3-2 in Survivor Series matches.
It is then down to the Beast Brock Lesnar to equalise the score as he faces Smackdown’s very own AJ Styles. The beast dominates AJ Styles initially until AJ shows a glimmer of hope by rocking the beast and scoring a phenomenal forearm smash. However, in a second attempt at the move, Brock Lesnar simply catches AJ and defeats him with the F5. The result is predictable as it then leads to the grand finale deciding match.
5 on 5 if the main event. Representing Raw is Captian Kurt Angle, Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, Braun Strowman, and Triple H. Leading the Smackdown team is Shane Mcmahon along with Randy Orton, Bobby Roode, Shinsuke Nakamura and John Cena. There are a few interesting confrontations such as Shinsuke vs Finn Balor, Randy Orton against Samoa Joe, and Randy & Cena against Strowman. However, despite the talent, it eventually fizzles down to Shane McMahon against Kurt Angle, Triple H and Braun Strowman. The result is a no brainer, although the surprise element is Triple H pedigree his own teammate Angle to eliminate him, and then stealing the victory himself. The show ends with Raw beating Smackdown and a small showdown with Strowman staring down Triple H.
